noform (不器堂, hereinafter referred to as "the Company") hereby establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in connection with the services provided on this website and software (hereinafter referred to as "the Service").
Art. 1Personal Information
"Personal Information" refers to "personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) of Japan, meaning information relating to a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in such information, as well as data relating to physical appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual from that information alone, such as health insurance card insurer numbers (personally identifiable information).

The Company may request personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, and credit card number when a user registers for the Service. The Company may also collect transaction records and payment-related information containing users' personal information from our business partners.

- If the purposes of use are changed, the Company shall notify users of the revised purposes or publicly announce them on this website in accordance with the Company's prescribed methods.
Art. 5Transmission of Data to External Services
In providing the Service, we transmit data to the following external services. When users do not use AI features, AI research features, or contact support, no user content is transmitted externally during regular offline writing.
Anthropic, Inc. (United States) — AI Features
- Data transmitted: Messages entered by users into AI features (chat, text analysis, research, etc.), text subject to analysis, and related contextual information
- Purpose of use: Provision of services such as AI-powered chat responses, text analysis, and keyword extraction
- Region: United States
- Anthropic's data handling: Data is handled in accordance with Anthropic's API Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Data submitted via the API is not used for training Anthropic's models.
AI Research Feature — Public and Open Library Databases
- Data transmitted: Search queries entered by users into the AI research feature (book titles, author names, keywords, etc.)
- Purpose of use: Retrieving bibliographic search results

destination depends on the search scope selected by the user (NDL only / English
sources / Global / Custom).
- National Diet Library Search (NDL) — Japan
- Library of Congress — United States
- Open Library — United States (operated by Internet Archive)
- Internet Archive — United States
- Data handling at each database: Subject to the privacy policy of each respective provider. We do not retain the content of search queries long-term.
- If users do not use the AI research feature, no search queries are transmitted.
Stripe, Inc. (United States) — Payment Processing (Direct Sales)
- Data transmitted: Information necessary for payment (email address, billing amount, etc.)
- Purpose of use: Processing of subscription payments
- Region: United States
- Sensitive payment information such as credit card numbers is collected and stored directly by Stripe; we do not store it.
Apple Inc. (Global) — Payment Processing (Mac App Store Edition)
- Data transmitted: In-app purchase (IAP) transaction information and receipts
- Purpose of use: Payment processing and subscription status verification for subscriptions on the Mac App Store edition
- Region: Global
- For users of the Mac App Store edition, payments are processed through Apple Inc.'s system and Stripe is not used. Apple Inc.'s privacy policy applies.
Logto (EU) — Authentication
- Data transmitted: Authentication information such as email addresses and OAuth tokens
- Purpose of use: Account authentication and maintaining login state
- Region: EU
Resend, Inc. (United States) — Support Email Delivery
- Data transmitted: Contents of support reply emails sent to users (recipient email address, body text, etc.)
- Purpose of use: Replying to support inquiries
- Region: United States
- Used only when responding to support requests; not used otherwise.
Cloudflare, Inc. (Global CDN) — API / Website Infrastructure
- Data transmitted: Request logs recorded by Cloudflare Workers / Cloudflare Pages when accessing the API and this website (IP address, User-Agent, request path, timestamp, etc.)
- Purpose of use: Stable service operation, prevention of unauthorized access, and performance analysis
- Region: Global (Cloudflare edge network)
- Retention period: In accordance with Cloudflare's standard retention policy, generally deleted within 30 days. We do not retain such data long-term.
Art. 6Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Company shall not provide personal information to third parties without
obtaining the prior consent of the user, except in the following cases. However,
this does not apply where disclosure is permitted under the APPI or other applicable
laws.
- Where it is necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of an individual and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
- Where it is especially necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
- Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national government body, a local government body, or an entity entrusted by either in executing affairs prescribed by laws, and obtaining the consent of the individual may impede the execution of such affairs

Where the following matters have been announced or publicly disclosed in advance
and the Company has filed a notification with the Personal Information
Protection Commission:
- That provision to third parties is included in the purposes of use
- The items of data to be provided to third parties
- The means or method of provision to third parties
- That provision of personal information to third parties will be ceased upon the request of the individual
- The method for accepting the individual's request

Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the recipient of information shall not be
considered a third party in the following cases:
- Where the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use
- Where personal information is provided as a result of the succession of business due to a merger or other reasons
Art. 7Disclosure of Personal Information

When requested by an individual to disclose their personal information, the Company
shall disclose such information to the individual without delay. However, the
Company may choose not to disclose all or part of the information if disclosure
falls under any of the following categories, and shall notify the individual without
delay if a decision not to disclose is made. A fee of 1,000 yen (excluding tax) per
request shall be charged for the disclosure of personal information.
- Where there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the individual or a third party
- Where there is a risk of significant impediment to the proper conduct of the Company's business
- Where disclosure would violate any applicable law
- Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the Company shall, as a general rule, not disclose information other than personal information, such as usage history and characteristic information.
Art. 8Correction and Deletion of Personal Information
- If a user's personal information held by the Company is inaccurate, the user may request the Company to correct, add to, or delete (hereinafter referred to as "correct, etc.") such personal information in accordance with the procedures established by the Company.
- If the Company receives a request from a user as described in the preceding paragraph and determines that it is necessary to comply with such request, the Company shall correct, etc. the relevant personal information without delay.
- The Company shall notify the user without delay when a correction, etc. has been made pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or when a decision has been made not to make such correction, etc.
Art. 9Suspension of Use of Personal Information
- If an individual requests the suspension of use or deletion (hereinafter referred to as "suspension of use, etc.") of their personal information on the grounds that it has been handled beyond the scope of the purposes of use or that it was obtained by fraudulent means, the Company shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
- If, based on the results of the investigation described in the preceding paragraph, the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, it shall suspend the use, etc. of the relevant personal information without delay.
- The Company shall notify the user without delay when use has been suspended, etc. pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or when a decision has been made not to suspend use, etc.
- Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, where the suspension of use, etc. would involve significant costs or where it is otherwise difficult to carry out, and alternative measures sufficient to protect the rights and interests of the user can be taken, such alternative measures shall be adopted.
Art. 10Changes to This Privacy Policy
- The contents of this Policy may be changed without notice to users, except as otherwise provided by law or in this Policy.
- Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
